There's a few things I'd like to talk about... well, it might end up being more than a few; let's see how long my memory lasts.

First of all, for the few who give half a crap about my Effective Public Speaking class, I've gotta give my 2nd speech on Friday, and I just now figured out a topic, so yeah, I'm totally screwed again. If it wasn't a persuasive one, I'd have done better, but that's gotta be the worst kind of speech for me to have to give. I'll let you guys know how that goes after Fri. The other classes aren't much different than normal (for me, anyway), except for my Career Selection class, I'm giving some serious thought to a career in either Advertising or Fashion Artist... don't know anything for certain yet, though.

Second, I know I try my hardest to not rant, but something that happened a few days ago pissed me off so bad, and I'd... well, I was kind of hoping for at least a little support. Some jerk at ff.net gave a super-negative review on my IronRoseShipping story (the review was stupid and contradictory, but all the same, I got flamed pretty badly); I didn't reply to the review because I knew it'd wouldn't be pretty. If you want, feel free to go there and kill the person for giving such a mean review; I'll even give you the person's username and everything. If you want to find it yourself, it's after the third chapter of the first story (called "With or Without You").

Third, some bad news (since I'm on a bad news roll anyway). After 13 June, my parents are shutting off my internet and cable in my townhome. So no cable for me, and the internet access will be restricted to about once a week when my sister and I will go to the library. It'd be more often, but gas prices keep escalating, and I'm going to try to get more hours of work for the summer, so that'll be the best I can manage until I move to Mason, where hopefully my parents will let me have cable again. They're shutting off their cable as well, but keeping the internet since my dad needs it for job-hunting. So be prepared for very slow replies and updates from me after 13 June.

Fourth, I was hoping I could get a bit of participation from everyone for a couple of things. No, there's no contests--I have a hard enough time with those at my clubs I run--but it's just something to have fun with. *shrugs* The main one I'd like to focus on is a Pokemon project. If you've seen my deviation titled "Topaz profile", you'll notise I mention something about using her in something else at a Future date. Well, I'd like to get that going now. Basically I want to use Topaz to create a new Pokemon region, with her as the main female trainer. What I'd like from all of you (you don't have to be a watcher to participate, either) is to see some designs and ideas for the following:
-male trainer (give a name, too, please)
-possible redesign for Topaz
-new region name/map
-new region starters
-new region Pokemon (evolved forms optional)
-new region Legendaries
-new region gym leaders
-new region city names
-new region "bad guys" (like Team Rocket/Aqua/Magma/Galaxy)
-new additions/changes for Contests

Any and all help is greatly appreciated; anyone who contributes designs/ideas will receive a free giftart from me. This does not include anyone who just gives a list of random stuff, like just names for people, towns and/or Pokemon with no descriptions or accompanying pictures. There is no deadline or anything for this, either, so feel free to take your time with it, too. When I have enough stuff to work with, I'll use the designs and ideas to start with a story of some sorts.

The second one I was hoping for some participation on is for my IronRoseShipping story in one particular scene. I got the idea while talking to =Sheshin, in which she mentioned being a part of the story since we're dA sisters. You MUST be a member of my dA family to participate!! (go to my journal titled "dA Family" if you want to join and participate) For the scene mentioned, it's the wedding between me and Tony. In the draft posted online, I fail to mention anything about bridesmaids and the... dudes who are with the groom like the bridesmaids... (I don't know what they're called... ) As close as it gets is that I mention Steve Rogers (Captain America) is the best man, and leave everything else out. So I was hoping some members of my dA fam would like to be a part of the scene (and maybe even different parts of the story as well). There's only two things I require for this: I need a name that you want to go by in the story (don't give me a dumb name or one filled with numbers or weird spellings; I just need a name. It doesn't have to be your RL name, either), and I need a thorough description of what you look like IRL. That's all.

And... there goes my mind. The only thing left I can think of is that there doesn't seem to be an Iron Man fanclub here at dA. I'd make one, but the two clubs I run keep me real busy (as well as maintaining this account). However, if someone wants to make a club for Iron Man, I'll gladly join as the first member and you'll automatically have my 2 clubs as affiliates, too.

Okay, to start, I'm not gonna have Tony talking in this one, mainly cause I'm so super-excited right now, I'll be jabbering on and on and completely forget that Tony should be saying something. Anywho...

This morning I went to 2 comic shops in the area, where I got some free comics and 2 Heroclix of Iron Man!! I asked my dad thru text messaging if he could get one for me if he was going to the Free Comic Book Day in his area, and I believe he did get me one, so I'll have three!! Yays!! While I was at the comic shops, though, I also bought several comics... like $15 worth or so, lol... all of 'em were Iron Man, 'cept for Ultimates #12. But I like the first Ultimates storyline, and Iron Man was on the cover with Cap and Thor, so it's all good.

Next, I came home and started reading the comics I got... there were 10 of 'em total, and I read 7 before I took my sister to work, about an hour later. (reads real fast) Then I came back home again and nearly exploded with anticipation while waiting for about 30-45 mins, then went to the movie theatre and... yep, watched the movie!! *jumps around in excitement* It totally rocked, let me tell you. I am SO glad I went to see it.

After the movie, I went to Kroger (where I work, FYI) and talked to come of my co-workers in the deli, since I told them I'd probably drop by after I watch the movie. When I got there, one of my co-workers asked if I saw the movie, and I proudly held up my ticket stub and said, "Yep!! It was awesome." Then I showed another co-worker one of the Heroclix I got, and after I hung around for a little longer, I came back home and read the remaining comics. 2 of the comics were #14 and 15 of the Civil War arc, but in the Iron Man comic series... after I read #15, I was like, No. Friggin. Way. (read it if you don't know what I'm talking about) I could not believe Tony would really do such a thing, even with Pepper begging him, y'know?? It just didn't seem like something he'd do. *sighs* I dunno... I guess it just doesn't sit right with me.

*takes a deep breath* Okay, moving on... Well, for my Effective Public Speaking class, we've gotta get working on ANOTHER speech; this time, it's a persuasive one. I can tell you right now I'm no good with being persuasive, since I have a deep respect for people's differences in beliefs and whatnot, and I know how hard it is to change the human mind. Impossible. Sad, but true. So, this speech is gonna be harder than the first one, and I'm still getting the jitters over having to deliver the speech in front of a class full of people and being recorded on camera at the same time. As for a topic... I dunno right now. But since my parents are coming here to-morrow for a brief visit, I'm gonna ask them for ideas.

KCC: (that's me, btw) Alrighty, I'm gonna see how well this works out. It's a first for my journals, but not for my comments.

Tony: What's that??

KCC: *points to Tony* Obviously, this is what I'm talking about. Thought you all would like to see Tony adding his "two cents" here and there... hopefully it'll make for some more interesting journals.

Tony: Or so you think.

KCC: Anyway... so before I talk about my speech, why don'tcha introduce yourself??

Tony: *mutters* Don't see the point, but okay... (normal) Hi, everyone, my name is Tony Stark. I'm the owner and CEO of Stark Industries. I've been called a billionaire playboy, among other things, heh heh heh...

KCC: Moving on...

Tony: Okay... well, I'm twenty-five years old and I'm married to KCC here.

KCC: Yeppers, it sure has been interesting.

Tony: Says you.

KCC: *glares* Since Tony's decided to give a lot of lip to-nite, I'll go on to talk about the speech.

Tony: You wanted witty remarks; I'm givin' 'em.

KCC: Moving on... again... for the speech, I gave it to-day... well, chronologically yester-day since it's like 1:45 AM right now. For those who haven't read my other journal talking about it (titled "Classroom Misadventures"), I did my speech about Stan Lee.

Tony: (acting like he's reading a script) Why Stan Lee??

KCC: Because I couldn't do one on you, silly. Anyways, we had to give our speech in 5-7 minutes; mine ended after 4 1/2 minutes. On top of that, one of the students that gave me a critique card (everyone had to give me one) said something I needed to improve on was to memorise the speech. Soon as I saw that, I was laughing, since I completed the whole thing at 3AM, so there was no time to memorise. Yeah yeah, I procrastinate REAL bad. I also have a very hard time getting in front of people and talking, so I was shaking pretty bad (I think mainly internally, though) and I think my voice was wavering a bit near the end. On top of it all, I was videotaped, so sometime later I have to look at it for a self-evaluation... I'm kinda scared to right now. Doing the speech rattled me so badly I was still shaking on the way to the next class (I went last), so I'm gonna leave the tape alone for as long as possible and die of embarrassment when I finally watch it.

Tony: *silence*

KCC: What, no witty remarks??

Tony: I think you've pretty much taken care of that on your own.

KCC: Well... I guess that's pretty much it. Hasta luego!!

Tony: Yes, ja ne!!

Yeah, the title's right. I'm in a bit of an artist/writer's slump for multiple reasons. What are those reasons, you are probably not even thinking?? Well, I don't care if anyone is curious or not, but here's the reasons:

1. Orphan Works bill. Read ~altearithe's journal for more info. That explains why the slump started, anyway.

2. Super-unpopular at dA. I'm not trying to use this as a means to beg ppl to comment/fave my stuff, but it gets depressing to know the most popular thing I've done is a friggin' tutorial. It shows that although ppl want to take my advice on how to draw something, they don't actually like the stuff I do draw. It just doesn't add up.

More on this reason... I know I've got almost 12K in pageviews at this point, but I really don't care about that anymore. When I reach my 12K I'll draw something for it, but it doesn't matter to me that much. I could have all the pageviews in the Universe and I still wouldn't care. I'd be pretty surprised, though. But anyways, I've been really pounding out the drawings these past few months (largely due to getting screwed on hours at work until recently and having only one class last quarter), but I don't get many comments or faves. Mind you, I prefer comments over faves, but I can tell how much someone likes my stuff when they fave, too. I know I don't fave much myself, but that's because I think it's better to let the artist know exactly why I like their artwork. It gets depressing knowing that no matter what I draw, I'm not going to get more than about 5 ppl commenting on it, and maybe 1 fave.

As for drawing in a bit more detail, when I coloured by hand I still wasn't getting many faves or comments, but when I switched to comp-colouring (I do it because it's faster, mmkay??), the numbers continued to dwindle. Then when I colour something by hand, I'm met with criticism in the comments. Also, with a lot of my comp-coloured stuff, I get lots of criticism, too, because I can't figure out how to colour in different shades and whatnot. Okay, I installed Paint.NET on my comp and had to figure out the program by myself... feel lucky I've been able to do as much as I have done. Then there was that incident where some jerk put one of my drawings in a collection called "Worst s*ht I ever seen"... I wanted to find that person and kill him/her. That's a terrible collection to have, and it's gonna piss off a LOT of artists... like me.

3. Super-unpopular at ff.net. I know I was treated like crap there when I first had an account there in 2002, thus why I deleted the account. Then in '05 or so, I made an account at fosff.net, where I was treated pretty nicely by everyone there, but the site got deleted about 6 months later. I wanted an organised place to store my fics, so I grudgingly went back to ff.net under a different pen name. I also know I just wanted the account as a place to put my fics for easy reference when talking about it to others, but my lack of popularity there is even worse than here. My most popular story is my PearlShipping one, and even then I don't even have 20 comments on it. I guess if I want comments and etc, I have to write really stoopid pointless fancouplings or yaoi/yuri or something retarded like that. I'm not going to, but you get my point. (sorry to the yaoi/yuri fans out there, but I can't stand it or approve of any of it, aside from SpongeBob x Patrick)

4. What really gets the comments/faves. I've drawn a very large range of different pictures over the years, from DragonBall Z to Yu-Gi-Oh! to Warriors to Martin Mystery to Iron Man (Anime styled, anyway) to Xiaolin Showdown, etc. I've even done some comic book characters (besides Iron Man) in Anime style, and have dabbed into realism a teensy bit, but no matter what I do, I think the only thing that gets even a handful of comments/faves is Pokemon. Now, I know I love Pokemon and all, but I'd like to draw other things besides that, you know?? Especially IronRoseShipping as of late, but I enjoy drawing other things. It just seems like no one really cares unless I draw Pokemon.

I'm sure there's other reasons, but right now I'm drawing a blank. *sighs* I know there's some people who support me and my artwork, but I could probably count them all on one hand, sadly. I can't rely on family for support, cause they all hate the fact that I love Anime/cartoons/comics, and I'm nearing my 25th birthday. I don't have any RL friends, either, although I've lived here in Ohio for almost 3 years now. I've only got the tiny support of a few online friends to go on for my drawings, and sometimes it really gets to me. Kind of like right now.

So for now, I'm going to have to cancel the 3 remaining pending requests indefinitely (I'm really sorry), and the other projects I was planning are cancelled for a while as well. I know *J-Dog007 is waiting for me to finish colouring one of his drawings for him... once I can get a little free time, I'll get it finished and sent to him. After that, I'm never going to take requests or trades again, and unless you're a real good online friend of mine, I'm not going to do giftart, either. As for having drawings uploaded here, I'm probably not going to have many done. I'm not gonna do like last time and delete most of my gallery (which was even worse, cause if anything I did had fewer than 5 faves on it I deleted it... over half my gallery vanished), but I'm not going to upload much by means of new stuff. I'll still write and draw, mind you, but I'm not going to upload everything I draw like before. Just giftarts and maybe a few drawings I'm real fond of. *shrugs* For writing, it'll all get uploaded at ff.net as usual, but I'm probably not gonna say anything about it. If you're one of the very, very few who even bothered to read any of my stuff, the link to my account there is on the "Website" link under "Devious Information" on my main page.

I'll still come here often and comment and manage my clubs and etc, but don't expect much by means of new drawings.

I'm sure those of you who are in school, whether it's high school (or middle school or what have you) or college, or those who have been in school in some form or fashion, have had your share of different weird, random and/or funny things that have happened to you in the different classes you've taken. As for me, yeah, I've had 'em--not very often, though--but for this quarter, I've had a nice little share of them, and I'm about to complete only the second week of the 12-week quarter. So I thought I'd share some of the more interesting ones with you all. (sorry if you don't get them, or if they're boring)

First of all, I want to talk about my Effective Public Speaking class. We've got a majour speech coming up in about a week or so, and it's an invitational speech, where we just inform the audience of who/what we're talking about. On Monday, we used the laptops provided in the classroom (long story) to look up a few topics online. The topic has to be specific enough to make a 3-5 minute speech about, but not too specific and not too broad. Anyway, so I got online and started looking. We had to come up with three different topics while browsing, so I decided to go with either Stan Lee, Peyton Manning or Studio Ghibli (or perhaps Hayato Miyazaki himself). Later, we had to name one of the topics we were considering, and when the teacher got to me, I said Stan Lee. The teacher said that was a good one, since he's one of the top ppl in Marvel and etc, and even pointed out that whenever you go to the movies to watch something like Spider-Man or Fantastic 4 (that was the only ones he mentioned), Stan Lee was the one who created those characters. At that, all eyes in the room turned to me, and I just about died of embarrassment. (hates being the center of attention, FYI)
So anyway, on Weds the teacher wanted to know exactly what topic we'd be working with. I'd juggled the ideas in my mind and decided to stick with Stan Lee, so when the teacher came to me, I said so. He said it would definitely be an interesting speech, especially for comic book fans like he was. I didn't say anything. He went on to mention the superhero movies again, this time also mentioning the Hulk movie, X-Men movies and said the Iron Man movie that was coming out in the summer. I thought, it's actually in a few weeks, but stayed silent. Someone mentioned a Captain America movie, and someone else said Cap was dead. The teacher went on to say that yes, Cap was killed during the Civil War storyline, but they're probably gonna resurrect him or get someone else to replace Steve. I thought, could've sworn it was decided already that Bucky would take his place, but again I stayed silent. I thought it'd be best to keep my trap shut, since if I said any of that, I'd really look like a comic book geek, when I'm not really much of one.

Okay, so that wasn't a great one. Fortunately, there's only one other class I'm gonna talk about, and that's Career Selection. On the first day of class, the teacher was asking some unusual questions, but they were relevant to the class. The only one that sticks out in my mind is when he asked if we knew who we were. Since I'm the quietest in the class and I keep to myself and etc, the teacher came up to me and asked if I knew who I was. I looked right at him and said, "Nope. I don't think I've ever known." Boy, was the teacher surprised by such a negative answer. To-day (Thursday), he was talking to a girl in the class about something, and it came around to her admitting she had low self-esteem. He asked if she loved herself, and she said yes. The teacher then asked who all loved themselves, and I notised pretty quickly I was the only one who didn't raise my hand. The teacher notised it, too, and asked me if I loved myself. I just shook my head and said, "No." I think I surprised him again, lol. (gots no self-esteem, FYI)
Also to-day, when I was in the classroom but class hadn't started, I overheard two girls talking about the class. Their dialogue went something like this:
"I just reaslied something."
"What's that??"
"This class deals with a lot of psychology. You know, where we have to think a lot about different things."
I almost wanted to yell, "Well DUH, what do you think the class is about??" some ppl have no sense at all, I suppose.
